12 Best Thrills and Chills

The Masters of Terror I Suppose?
12.) Scream Trilogy: Alright, I don’t have a very good review for this movie, but after watching one after another, I just know I was scared to go near my brother for a month because he would wear that ghost mask the killer wore. It’s a must see if you like tons of fake blood and a tragic family reunions.
11.) Child’s Play Series: These movies made me scared to go near any kind of doll. Chucky is definitely infamous. Being only inches tall or the size of a teddy bear, he still manages to kill one person after another. After my sister babysitting me and forcing me to watch it when I was only six years old, I was hooked on horror movies forever.
10.) The Grudge I & II: I'll admit, the original Japanese take Ju-On was scary enough, but the American version made me afraid to have any kind of shadow in my room for weeks. I was also way paranoid in the shower after seeing that gray hand creep up from behind Sarah Michelle Geller's skull. If you like creepy Japanese horror tales and suspense, this is the movie for you.
9.) It (1990): Okay, so I'm fifteen and this is a total 80's movie. But when I first laid eyes on it at the Movie Gallery, I freaked and bought it. This was only because Tim Curry was sporting green, clawed fingers and a clown getup. After watching it though, I hated clowns for months and was paranoid to walk beside drainage openings on the street. I highly recommend it if you want a good scare. The ending, I'll have to admit, is confusing. Still a great thrill though!
8.) The Return of the Living Dead (1985): If George Romero's classic 1968 zombie-gore fest was enticing to you or you just want some zombie action, then this is the sequel for you. The Return of the Living Dead does Romero's classic justice, with a formula containing teenagers, zombies moaning for brains, deadly rain poisoned by a fatal chemical making the dead rise, and funky rock music all in one. You have to love it!
7.) The Exorcist (1973): I may not have been born yet in 1973, but this is a classic possession movie. The head turn, green puke, and demonic possession is fabulously chiller! A must watch.
6.) The Blair Witch Project (1999): Okay. I'll admit, this movie made me extremely afraid to go camping with my dad or even go near the forest in my backyard. It's a must see.
5.) Halloween Series: Along with Jason Voorhees being my favorite villain, I also love Michael Myers, who in that ghostly white mask and jump suit, scares the heck out of me. Using a classic knife or whatever he can find, Michael is truly a movie monster worthy of any mention. I'll also have to say this made me scared to go trick-or-treating for about two years without someone with me.
4.) Poltergeist (1982): Creepy 80's movie about paranormal activity to one little girl putting her family in jeopardy. Classic. After this flick, I didn't really sit to close to the TV anymore.
3.) The Ring (2002): Just as in The Grudge (2004), a creepy little girl coming from a well, terrorizing a couple is enough to make me not want to fetch water or watch a strange video tape. Truly haunting.
2.) Friday the 13th Series: I love Jason Voorhees. The towering height, machete, that mangy work suit, and let's not forget the famous hockey mask that made him an icon after he ditched the flour sack from the original. I always have to buy a Jason mask for Halloween. If a movie can make me buy a product, then it's for sure great. But it's not just the mask that makes this horror flick great, it's Jason's intent of the kill, the Camp Crystal Lake legend, the interesting ways Jason takes down his prey, stupid teenagers, the one smart teenager, and the adults that get slashed. In my opinion, this is probably my most favorite horror series.
1.) A Nightmare on Elm Street Series: My favorite slasher of all time. Freddy Krueger truly made it hard for me to sleep for months at a time. The metal clawed gardening glove, the brown fedora, and green with red striped sweater will stick in my mind forever.
