2 Films: Rock Licks Girl's Face Off; Shadow Man Makes Town Go Crazy

I'm looking for two different films:

The first is a 70's film where in one scene, the mother calls her daughter and the daughter has this rock thing in her lap and it licks her face off (not sure if it was a sharp tongue or acid). Some of the movie may have taken place in some caves near a beach.

The second came out between 1995 and 2005. In the beginning, a man sells his son's soul to a shadow man during a ritual and the shadow goes to the sleepy town where the boy lives. His mother is a vet and during the movie the shadow man creates shadow dobermans that when light hits them, they explode. Most of the town goes nuts because the shadow man is there. An old man cuts his wife's head off and says he did it because he liked the chopping sound.

Any ideas on either of these?
