5 Underestimated Horror Films With Great Stories

1. The Haunting in Connecticut (2009). This film is actually really good; I went to watch it on the cinemas and it really impressed me. I like scary houses and building tension, and if you share the same interest, please don't miss this one!
2. The Devil's Backbone (2001). When I mention this masterpiece, people look at me bewildered. The Devil's Backbone is a Spanish horror, made by my hero Guillermo Del Toro. This is a 'must have' in your horror collection alongside the other Spanish horror masterpiece The Orphanage.
3. The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer (2003). Powerful, stunning, lovely, but creepy; this film is a masterpiece about a strong relationship between a house and a woman, and the consequences of a evil and cheating husband. The film is epic, but to really scary in a sense.
4. Gin Gwai aka The Eye (2002) - the Japanese version. First, I hate American remakes and second, I hate Jessica Alba. Easy math isn't it? Watch the beautiful Japanese version which is also the original. It's scary!
5. Antichrist (2009). I love Lars Von Trier and his sense of art, and this film is really a well-put-together piece of original, powerful art. The scenes may be horrific and terrible, but Von Trier has made something so pure and fresh that you can't miss this. Good acting, overall great, but strong sexual scenes.
Hope you like my list, and before ending I just want to say that I am sorry if any patriotic Americans read this list. You can love Hollywood as much as you want, but I just don't get your idea of 'Hey, let's get together and make a remake of an excellent film. Let's destroy it real bad and spit on it in the name of the Hollywood movie God.' Mua ha ha ha..and I hope you like my sense of humor!
Sinisterly bloody from Norway...
