Ten Rillington Place - John Christie murders
by: Lisa

I think the name of the movie is 10 Rillington Place, a 1971 British crime drama with Richard Attenborough, John Hurt, Judy Geeson; adapted by Clive Exton from the book Ten Rillington Place by Ludovic Kennedy. I remember seeing it when I was young and it creeped me out. From Yahoo's movie site: London, 1944. John Reginald Christie (Attenborough) is digging in his backyard when he comes across a woman's leg. Unfazed, he covers up the leg & continues to bury the woman he just strangled in his kitchen. Three years later, Timothy Evans (John Hurt), along with his wife, Beryl Evans (Judy Geeson), & their baby, rents an apartment in the same decrepit building - 10 Rillington Place. The young couple struggles to live on Timothy's minuscule pay while Christie insidiously inserts himself into their lives. He manipulates the pregnant Beryl & the illiterate Timothy until they believe he will perform an abortion on Beryl. However, Christie has other plans... (Let me know if this is what you're looking for - it took me awhile to remember the name of it.)

Peter Egan? Killer?
by: Geoff

There is a slim chance that this horror story starred British Actor Peter Egan as this killer. Anyone know what this was? Tales of the Unexpected? Alfred Hitchcock Presents? Twilight Zone or other? Wish I could find out what this play, story, film is. Anyone? Thanks to all who have commented so far!

Maybe...
by: Anonymous

This sounds like it could be part of the Hammer House of Mystery & Suspense series of TV films...it sounds very like the sort of head-bending stuff they did that sent me to bed with nightmares! It's not Hammer House of Horror though as I've got that boxset..highly recommended!

Not that one
by: Anonymous

Thanks but it's not The Gardener. The play/drama was a British TV drama. Still don't know what it was? Anyone have any other suggestions?

Short play
by: Laura

Hi,
Actually Motel Hell was a short play made in 1980. Due to the fact that it was too short to have its own reel it shares the same reel as Deranged due to the fact that both were short plays. Deranged is about a man who misses his domineering mother so he digs her up. Motel Hell as I said preveiously was made in 1980 about a farmer who kidnaps unsuspecting tourists, buries them alive and fattens them up so he can harvest them to make his famous fritters!

1980 movie 'Motel Hell'
by: Laura

It sounds like the 1980 movie Motel Hell directed by Bob Clark. Rory Calhoun stars as farmer Vincent> He buries travelers that he has kidnapped in his garden and makes them into his popular dish of fritters.
