All of the Characters from Horror Movies Are Important, But...
The BEST heroes have a special place in our hearts! Here are bios of the characters from horror movies that got away (and lived at least long enough for a sequel!)
Oh, you
know who I
mean - those characters that get stabbed, bitten, thrown out of
windows, spewed with goo or locked in a dream state, but somehow
miraculously seem to triumph over their deranged, indestructible,
super-human foes.
There
are a few criteria that these determined survivors must
meet to qualify as the BEST of the characters from
horror movies that arise as heroes.
First, the survivor must live on to appear
in at least one sequel. A survivor that achieves "five minutes of fame"
by avoiding mutilation by a diabolical monster, and then is never heard
from again, is definitely no hero! And we're not talking about simply
surviving here, because being a recurring character doesn't qualify one
for horror movie hero status. The hero is the one who is victimized,
escapes, and somehow triumphs to fight another day.
Second,
there must be an inherent "cool factor" to the
survivor. What about them was unique, and prompted their amazing escape
from the clutches of mutilation and certain death? Admittedly, it is
rare for a character from horror movie madness to emerge from the pools
of bloody abyss as a hero without there being something about them that
is, well, special.
Finally,
the very most important quality that characters from horror
movies must possess to be considered a hero: Likeability and
entitlement to the honor, as determined by...ME! OK,
not exactly fair, but that's the way the machete slices. Actually, we
