• New Horror Reviews on BHM.

• Interviews with a Horror Movie Hottie and the Co-creator of the highly psychological flick Marcus.

Horror New Releases, April 2007

The Mario Bava Collection, Volume 1 - The first volume of the Mario Bava box-set collection contains such classics as Black Sabbath, Black Sunday and The Girl who Knew Too Much. All are requirements for the well-versed Horror Freak.

Black Christmas - Remake of the 1974 classic, this film lacks the genius of the original but makes up for it with great plot twists and gore.

Phantasm - This is, of course, a classic. This re-release has a ton of great DVD extras and is a good one to own if you don't already. In fact...a must.

Godzilla Raids Again - Godzilla finds a new foe and battles in that old Godzilla fashion, leveling Japanese cities all the while. Pretty good reviews.

Mothra vs. Godzilla - This is one of the most popular Godzilla monsters ever - and my favorite.

Feast (Unrated) [HD DVD] - I love this movie - and on HD DVD it's gonna be great...and one that I will buy. Read the BHM review of Feast here.

Masters of Horror - Family - One of the better flicks from the Masters of Horror Series, season 2. Read the BHM review of Family here.

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie - There are some that claim that this is one of the best zombie movies ever made. I wonder what the resident Zombie Master Lee Roberts would have to say about that...

Naked You Die - Re-release of an Italian who-dun-it from 1968. I hear that it is worth watching for the opening bath tub slash scene alone.

Slaughter Night - Straight to DVD horror that mixes a ghost story with Voo Doo and black magic. Reviews are actually pretty good.

Kidnapped (A.K.A. Rabid Dogs) - Another Bava horror movie being re-released. Considered the "lost masterpiece". That remains to be seen...

Beneath Still Waters - Spanish horror about a town underwater because of a man-made lake coming to life and grabbing people. Sounds promising...haven't read any reviews yet.

The House By the Cemetery - 1981 monster classic directed by Lucio Fulci known for Zombie 2 and other genre classics. For the hard core horror aficionados.

Cinderella - Subtitled Korean horror about plastic surgery run amok. I am going to check this one out...

Kraken - Tentacles of the Deep - This movie is about a giant killer octopus. Yikes...I may just have to miss this one.

Video Violence 1 & 2 - 80s low-budget slasher films about a husband and wife that own a video store and make homemade snuff videos. Full of torture and exploitation for you sickos out there.

Bottom Feeder - Straight to DVD horror with generally bad reviews. Watch at your own risk.

Luana: Karzan, Jungle Lord - Italian exploitation horror loosely based on Tarzan. Abundant female nudity, which is likely why people still buy it. I feel dirty...

New Horror Movie Reviews

The Reaping - The Reaping is not just a religious tale, but a complex story about religion, faith, science and troubled pasts. The story, direction and acting are all excellent and Swank is redeemed. Written by BHM Contributor Michael Saunier

Wicked Little Things - Wicked Little Things is one of the offerings by After Dark Films through their 8 films to die for promotion. The story is formula and the plot follows a typical horror outline. Entertaining? Yes. Groundbreaking? Hardly. Written by BHM Contributor Michael Saunier

Zombie Death House - Zombie Death House is a classic example of a not-a-zombie zombie movie that could have been a good movie with more budget. A zombie movie review by the Zombie Master, Lee Roberts

The Number 23 - The Number 23, a lavishly produced film starring Jim Carrey and directed by Joel Schumacher, takes obsession, paranoia and insanity head-on. Unfortunately they just could not sell it. Written by BHM Editor Don Sumner

Marcus - Marcus is independent horror that reinforces the need for independent horror. Intense, shocking, psychological and well done all describe this low-budget film. Written by BHM Editor Don Sumner

Black Christmas 2006 - Black Christmas 2006 is indeed a remake and has two strikes against it out of the gate. Thankfully there are enough plot twists and creative gore scenes to make it worth while. Written by BHM Editor Don Sumner

Drive-Thru - Drive-Thru is a horror-comedy about the adventures of Horny The Clown, and takes us all back to a simpler time when horror didn't have to feel grown up. BHM early-look review written by BHM Contributor Chris Pink

Dead Silence - Dead Silence is the first offering by James Wan and Leigh Whannell to hit theaters after their meteoric rise to notoriety after the wildly successful Saw Franchise. What a brilliant ride. Written by BHM Contributor Michael Saunier

Masters of Horror - Complete reviews for Seasons 1 and 2

Masters of Horror - When The Zombie Master Lee Roberts decided to tackle the task of writing reviews for the Masters of Horror series he had no intention of writing reviews for all 13 episodes of Season 1 at one sitting. He REALLY didn't know that, two weeks later, he would do Season 2 as well. Lucky for us...
