Horror New Releases, December 2007

Halloween - Unrated Director's Cut (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition) - The Rob Zombie remake of the Carpenter classic. Personally I thought it was fantastic...and can't wait to see what's different about the "director's cut".

Stardust [HD DVD] - More a magic fairy tale than horror, but this one is very highly reviewed and it would make a great gift for those with an HD DVD player.

Silent Night, Deadly Night - I read that there is nothing in this release that wasn't on the 2002 release, so if you already have it on DVD you might want to pass...but if you do not have it then Silent Night, Deadly Night is a must have in your horror collection.

Hatchet (Unrated Director's Cut) - Hatchet is widely well-reviewed, Horror Queen didn't like it and I haven't seen it. So, there you go...

The Girl Next Door - Yet another with really good reviews and I haven't had the chance to watch this one yet. Who's up for a review?

The Last Man on Earth - Classic Vincent Price that some say had a profound impact on George Romero's NIght of the Living Dead. What do you think Zombie Master?

Pan's Labyrinth [Blu-ray] - This is one of the best movies of 2006 - but it's not a horror movie...no matter what the "horror inteligencia" says.

20 Million Miles To Earth (50th Anniversary Edition) [Blu-ray] - This is an awesome creature feature in Blu-Ray...

Latitude Zero - Japanese Monster movie in the "Godzilla" vein.

Bikini Bloodbath - Even the name, "Bikini Bloodbath", oozes C-film cheese and lots of naked lovelies. Guilty pleasure to be sure.

The Evil Dead (Ultimate Edition) - Another version of Evil Dead on DVD? As the advertisements say, "You Bet Your Ash!".

Masters of Horror: The V Word - Masters of Horror out again, this time the vampire story. The Zombie Master says the FX are "top notch".

Cat People [HD DVD] - Horror from 1982 starring Natassia Kinsky. Ever since that old academy award winning movie "Tess" I have hated her...but the picture with the python just about made up for it.

Masters of Horror: Season 1, Vol. 4 [Blu-ray] - If you have the new technology and liked the MOH then you might get this.

Comment Thread of the Month

This was another KILLER month for Horror 2.0 at Best-Horror-Movies.com. It all started with a reader submission of a review for the Independent Horror Movie Hallows Point and suddenly there was a firestorm of comments!

Two things are clear: Hallows Point is a popular Independent Horror offering, and the film makers are highly organized in getting folks to spread the word. When Horror 2.0 works, it's a beautiful thing. Click the links above and see for yourself...

Newest Horror Movie Reviews on BHM

I Am Legend - I am Legend dramatizes the potential effects of genetic tampering reminiscent of 28 Days Later, but focusing on one man’s quest for a cure instead of purely on survival. (Written by The Horror Czar Don Sumner)

Bram Stoker's Dracula - **Classic Horror Review** Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a masterpiece where every subtle change in color, music or scenery adds to the mystery and intensity. (Written by BHM Contributor Dr. Chills)

Wasp Woman - The Wasp Woman is Low Tech, Impossible and Ridiculous, which makes it absolutely perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon. (Written by The Horror Czar Don Sumner)

Uzumaki - Uzumaki is a Strange and Disorienting Japanese Horror Movie Based on the Graphic Novel of the Same Name. Very Weird and Very Original. (Written by The Zombie Master Lee Roberts)

Timber Falls - Timber Falls reintroduces an old theme with some new twists that will have you cringing in horror while laughing at the idiocy of the situation. Horror Queen Says: Bloody Thumbs Up! (Written by BHM Contributor Horror Queen)

Pink Eye - **Independent Horror Spotlight** Pink Eye is an efficient micro-budget horror creation by Savage Rose Productions and Lost Angeles Films. Though the dollars spent are few, a lot of impact is squeezed from every penny.

Holiday Shopping at The Horror Shop!

The Horror Shop has everything you need to please your favorite Horror Freak this holiday season!

Aside from the HUGE selection of DVDs, Horror Movie Posters, Horror Books, Horror Props and Horror Music, there is something Brand New -

BHM Logo Merchandise! - There are T-Shirts, Jackets, Coffee Mugs, Hats...even Teddy Bears! I have it on good authority that The Zombie Master Lee Roberts uses his BHM Coffee Mug (The Large Size, of Course...) when he's watching movies to review. I think that's what every Horror Freak should be doing, so check out BHM Logo Merchandise for yourself and for holiday gifts!
