The Ossuary - Check it out!
You have about 1 week before The Ossuary goes World Wide - don't miss out on that screen name you always wanted!
New Release Horror DVDs for May 2008
May is a pretty light month for Horror DVDs - Still, there are some standouts that you won't want to miss:
Teeth - I THINK I know what this one is about... the promotions look pretty nasty. Teeth where there should not be teeth... yikes.
The Cottage - This film had limited theatrical release in the U.K. - look for that dry British humor I like so much in this horror/comedy.
Grizzly Rage - Hot chick Kate Todd gets chased by a hungry Grizzly. This one has terrible reviews, but sometimes that doesn't matter.
Night of the Living Dead - The remastering of 1968 classic zombie fare overseen by the legendary George A. Romero. The Zombie Master says that you MUST get this one... we suggest pre-order.
Phenomena - Dario Argento film from 1984 with Jennifer Connelly and Donald Pleasence. "Another Dario Argento work of art" about a boarding school student (familiar?) who can communicate with insects.
Dario Argento Box Set - This Argento collection includes Do You Like Hitchcock?, Phenomena, Tenebre, Card Player and Trauma.
Lost Colony - Made for TV and poorly reviewed, this one is FINALLY available on DVD....
Eye - Directed by actress Sara Botsford from The Fog remake, Jumpin Jack Flash and Legal Eagles. I couldn't find any other directorial credits... a sign?
Kinky Cannibal Double Feature: Cannibal Doctor / Dinner for Two - Directed by William Hellfire, known for such cinematic classics as An Erotic Werewolf in London, Erotic Witch Project 2: Book of Seduction and Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet. Be afraid... be very afraid.
Latest Reviews on BHM
Best-Horror-Movies.com is busy bringing you the real scoop on new releases, independents, zombie flicks and the classics (or "classics" as the case may be)
Check out the latest from:
Horror Queen, Theatrical Releases:
Pathology - The interns in Pathology perversely toy with dead people to make them mouth dialogue from When Harry Met Sally and one can’t help but wonder… are we all capable of such inhumane acts? Or are they specific to this particular group of drug-addicted sleep deprived medical residents?
Prom Night 2008 - Take a Group of Shallow High School Kids, Add One Psychotic Killer on the Loose, and What Do You Get? Scream, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Prom Night 2008. Unfortunately the unique plot (ha ha) of this remake of the 1980’s film starring Jamie Lee Curtis fails to make up for the stale characters and even staler dialogue.
The Zombie Master
Diary of the Dead - Diary of the Dead shows us all that George A. Romero both made the zombie sub-genre what it is today, and that 40 years later he’s still got it.
King of the Zombies - King of the Zombies is a fun film that was needed at that time in history. Just enjoy it for what it is – scare comedy with early zombies.
The Horror Czar - Independents
Red Velvet - Red Velvet tells a story of storytelling prompted by a seemingly chance meeting between two neighbors at a Laundromat. The lesson is: Don’t air your dirty laundry in public.
Johnny Sunshine: Maximum Violence - Johnny Sunshine: Maximum Violence has porn and drug trade in a world overtaken by zombies. As we learn in this film, annihilation of the world to zombies is not necessarily a bad thing for some people.
Ronnie Angel - B-Movie Specialist
Twilight Zone: The Movie - Twilight Zone The Movie is an excellent anthology of horror shorts patterned after the classic television series. I haven’t met many horror fans that do not consider this one, at least, a guilty horror pleasure.
Dr. Chills - The Horror Intellectual
Mimic - The heroes in Mimic must forge into the underbellies of the New York City subways on an adventure they will never forget.
Reader-Submitted Review - James from New Jersey
Tales From the Dark Side: The Movie - There once was a film called “Creepshow 3”... AND IT DIDN'T SUCK!
