Jason Voorhees has been stabbed with knives, sliced with machetes, blown apart, drown and shot into space. Yet somehow Jason endures to the delight of horror fans everywhere.
Jason has appeared in multiple horror movies, all part of the hugely successful Friday the 13th franchise. Yes, Jason Voorhees comes to mind through all of the Friday the 13th movies, but he doesn't appear at all in part 5. In fact, although he is referenced in the original movie of the series, he does not participate in any of the ghastly mayhem and is only viewed once as a child during the sole survivor's psychotic break.
The timeline of Jason Voorhees through the series is difficult to track, at best. This is largely due to the fact that there wasn't much care taken to ensure accuracy and consistency from installment to installment. Nonetheless, we at best-horror-movies.com have put together a (somewhat) accurate accounting of the deaths, resurrections and absences from movie to movie:
First, a bit of history...
June 13, 1946: Jason is born. By piecing together the day reported in the original Friday the 13th and the year from Jason goes to Hell we can determine that this is when the bouncing bundle of joy named Jason Voorhees came into this world.
Sumner, 1957: Jason drowns. Those irresponsible camp counselors WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION!
June 13, 1958: Camp Crystal Lake Counselors are murdered. The murders remained unsolved.
And now the movies begin...
June 13, 1979: Pamela Voorhees decapitated. This is the killing spree from the first Friday the 13th, where the killer is Jason's mother. It is alluded to later that Jason himself was alive after all, and witnessed his mother's untimely demise. Now, June 13, 1979 is actually NOT Friday the 13th, but the dates come from other references in the movies so we're going to go with it.
August, 1979: Jason goes on killing spree in Part 2. Yes, Jason is now the star of the show!

Summer, 1981: Jason is killed for the first time. Jason is confronted by a previously unknown survivor and takes an ax to the forhead in Part 3. It's also worth noting that Jason first dawns the infamous Hockey Mask in Part 3, when Jason goes 3-D!
July 13, 1984: Jason is killed by Tommy Jarvis. This is Jason's second on-screen death (He comes back to life in the morgue in the beginning of this installment), and Corey Feldman plays the 12 year old that kills our Monster with GUSTO in Part 4.
(Jason does not participate in the murderous festivities in Part 5)
May 13, 1988: Jason reanimated by lightning. Tommy Jarvis, now 16 years old, digs up Jason to ensure that he's dead, and repeatedly stabbs him with a metal post. Well, Tommy, next time don't leave the post in the body because lightning might strike it and bring the dead back to life... In the end of Part 6 Jason is drowned (again).
August 13, 1993:Jason reanimated by telekinesis. Character Tina Shephard accidentally brings Jason back to life in Part 7 with the power of her mind. Luckily, she can also get him back in the lake to drown a third time.
1994: Jason revisits electricity. In part 8 it is a power line that comes in contact with his waterlogged body and brings him to perilous perkiness to slash again. He, of course, goes to New York city.

1994: Jason sheds need for physical body. In part 9 Jason is blown apart by the FBI. Unfortunately the coroner EATS Jason's evil heart and becomes a reincarnation. By the end of this one Jason can jump from living body to living body. Now what do we do? We'll find out after...
2002: Freddy reanimates Jason. Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm Street needs children to think about and fear him as a source of power. He thinks bringing Jason Voorhees back will accomplish this. He forgot that Jason would first scare the children, and then kill them - ensuring that they won't fear anyone. This is all VERY out of sequence...
2455: Jason is rebuilt. Nano-technology turns Jason into a cyborg in space in Part 10, Jason X. I can't wait to see where they try to take this one! I'm sure they will just hope that we've all forgotten that this ever took place...
The saga of Jason Voorhees is sure to continue, whether it be in a dream-land, space-land, Manhattan-land or Disney-land. The hockey mask, the machete, the slow walk that invariably catches up with the sprinting co-ed...they all spell an enduring horror movie monster sure to inspire dread and dispare for years to come. In the mean time, contact us about Jason Voorhees!
