Alien Octopus Takes Over Couple's Home in 70's Film

I'm trying to remember the name of a 70's movie where a man walks into a bedroom and it appears that a woman and a man are lying in bed together, but low and behold an octopus has actually beheaded the couple and is wearing their heads on his tentacles!

The octopus eventually takes over this suburban home and turns the place into a wasteland. In the end, a bunch of men wearing space suits show up and disintegrates the alien octopus.
