Anthology of Tales About Insane Asylum Patients

I remember watching a horror film that was a collection of tales about people in an insane asylm, and what happened to put them there.

In one tale, a guy finds a log or tree in the woods and brings it home. In the end, he ends up killing his wife with it (or it kills her).

In another tale, a man kills a girl while she's in the shower and his henchman chops her up and serves her to her mother as part of a Voodoo ceremony.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
