Apocalyptic Virus Crazy

The Motaba Virus, From 'Outbreak'

I'm a huge horror fan. It all started when I was six or seven years old and I saw It, the movie about the killer clown. I remember being so scared of clowns (kind of still am) but I just couldn't stop watching the movie over and over again, begging my mother to rent it from Blockbuster for me.

I've just always been drawn to horror. I wish I could list every horror movie that I have watched and loved, but there are too many. I do own all of the Saw films as well as House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes 1 & 2, all of the Hannibal movies, even The People Under the Stairs (awesome movie, with hilarity to spare) and many others. These are just a few in the collection I am building.

But out of all of the horror movies I have seen I have absolutly fallen in love with the killer virus movies: 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, Doomsday, Outbreak. There should be more killer virus movies! I think the reason I'm so drawn to them is because they're almost plausable, like one day it could happen to us as a human race - maybe no so much the 28 movies where people turn into super-charged zombies, but the motaba and reaper virus almost seem like they would have a chance in this world.

There's always this adrenaline rush to go with horror that you just can't get from action movies (belch). The creepy sounds in the night seem to get louder, and there are murderers happening around every corner in every shadow...or my favorite - the killer fast-acting virus, out to destroy the entire human race from the inside out.

Stay Scary Everyone.

I love apocalyptic virus/zombie movies for the same reason - you never know it could very well happen. All i know is I'm stocking up on ammo and supplies. Check out The Crazies (2009) and Carriers (2009).
