Basement Monster Smashes Woman's Head

I only remember one scene of this movie because I saw it in the early 80's and i was like 7 or 8.

There's a woman entering a house alone. I don't remember if she lives there or is visiting... she's wearing a scarf and has a bowl of grapes or something in a bowl which she drops and it spills over a floor heater grate. Something is down below in the basement (some kind of monster or animal). While she's on the floor picking up the fruit, the monster ties her scarf under the grate and smashes her face over and over.

It was the scariest thing I ever saw and I'm dying to know what this movie is....
