'The Ring' (2002)

'The Ring' (2002)

This is the coolest and scariest movies' list. You may get goose bumps while watching these awesome pieces of mind-blowing, thrilling, monstrously gory, gruesome, crazy, cool and brutally enjoyable movies.

25. Child’s Play 3 (1991). Beyond the horizon, some ‘thing’ lives. Find out what in this ultimate horror film.

24. The Thing (1982). Great film.

23. The Shining (1980). Wanna watch the true empire of Jack Nicholson crumble?

22. Trick r Treat (2008). Best Halloween movie in the last 30 years. This movie tells the tale of tricks and treats – more tricky than you think.

20. Vacancy (2007). A motel, a couple, a mystery…murder!

19. 28 Days Later (2002). Typical zombie movie. Cool to see. Enjoy the blood-slashing dead bodies with popcorn.

18. Midnight Meat Train (2008). A photographer trying to find a story, an extreme story. Welcome to the train at midnight, and try to stay alive!

17. Mirrors (2008). Sutherland is always my favorite and I wanted to watch this because of him. Watch it for the mind-squeezing creature as well.

16. Hostel (2005). Games are good. There’s a place where anything is possible inside a twisted mind.

15. Psycho (1960). You’ve heard of Norman Bates. One of the best horror movies ever made by the mastermind: Alfred Hitchcock.

14. The Strangers (2008). Based on true events, a place where one couple and their friend are found stabbed 47 times.

13.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). You’ve heard of Freddy Krueger. He will come into your dreams and hunt you. Johnny Depp’s first role.

12. The Hills Have Eyes (2006). Heard of area 51 by the Texas border of Nevada? See the effects of nuclear research.

11. House of 1000 Corpses (2003). Welcome to the world of Rob Zombie. I really have a crush on his wife and she’s in it.

10. Halloween (2007). Normal equation: legendary Mike Myers plus Rob Zombie’s touch – illusion!

09. The Grudge (2004). Ghost houses are old material, but new here!

08. Quarantine (2008). It’s recorded…an interviewer following firefighters for a TV show. Suddenly an alarms breaks on a 911 emergency. What the heck happened in that apartment building? One of the best horror movies of 2008.

07. Saw (2004). I saw. We see. But we can’t believe in jigsaw.

06. My Bloody Valentine (2009). On Valentine’s Day (he, he he), enjoy the most thrilling moments of your life in 3D.

05. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). This isn’t based on true events, but it’s good.

04. Wrong Turn (2003). If you’re in a hurry, don’t forget and make a wrong turn. Enjoy the gore and nasty, lusty devils.

03. The Ring (2002). 7 days, 7 is the earth, 7 is the number! I watched this when I was ten and was really scared!

02. The Descent (2005). Night is the worst option but I still like to watch this on ‘horror movie night’. Get creeped out!

01. The Exorcist (1973). Here comes the end of our journey and the most horrifying movie ever made. Hardcore violence in William Friedkin’s one and only masterpiece.

Are you kidding me?

You list Zombie's Halloween (2007) But not the original? Speaking of Zombies... no Dawn of the Dead - original or remake?

Really?
by: HorrorFan

The worst list I have ever seen! You are not even close to knowing horror movies. Halloween (2007) give me a break....I think you meant (1978)!

To each his own...
by: beanfigger

When 80% of your list comes from the last decade, it's incomplete. You have so many sequels and remakes on the list that are nothing compared to the originals, which makes me wonder if you've seen the originals? My hope is that you haven't, you will someday, and you will change your list after trying some movies from the 20th Century.

Good Generic Plots
by: Anonymous

Of a roster of legends, 30 Days of Night (2007), a masterful film with the perfect amount of blood, gore, suspense, romance, action, and plain sense did not make the top 25 best horror films of all time? I hang my head in shame.

'The Grudge'?
by: Remon

The Grudge in the top 25 and not The Changeling (1980)? There's something horribly wrong with this list!

Huh?
by: coolhive

What's scarier is your lack of basic U.S. geography knowledge. Texas does not border Nevada.

Agree on some
by: lucy

Tawsif, thanks for contributing. I agree with you on The Thing, The Exorcist, The Ring, Rob Zombie's Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Trick r Treat and Psycho being on there. Saw and Hostel do nothing for me, but obviously there are many who think they belong on a top 25 list. It's all subjective. Good list.

So what are yours?
by: lucy

Anonymous, your comment isn't helpful if you don't elaborate. Which films do you think don't belong on the list, and what would you replace them with? We all have things that we think are scary that others don't.
