10. The Graveyard Shift (1990). Overall, it was a good movie. The effects were kind of cheesy, and the plot was a bit hard to follow, but it kept me entertained.
9. Cujo (1983). I liked this movie. There is some controversy over whether or not this is a good movie, but personally, I liked it.
8. Creepshow (1982). This movie was pretty good. The special effects were not so great, but I guess that's what makes it good.
7. Cat's Eye (1985). When I first saw this, I felt it was like Creepshow, a bunch of different stories in one. Overall, it was good.
6. Pet Sematary. This was just creepy. It was scary, although the effects weren't the greatest, and the characters weren't all that developed. For that reason, it's not in my top five, but just above it.
5. Children of the Corn (1984). This was definitely a scary movie. It was thought out and I was especially creeped out when the possessed child said "I've got you too, Malachi!" Ugh!
4. Misery (1990). This was really thought out well. Great plot and well introduced characters. Plus the suspense is the kind that grabs you the whole way through and doesn't let go.
3. Carrie (1976). This is proof that Stephen King is extremely talented. This movie demonstrates what kind of powers simple children can possess. I absolutely love it, and for 1976, the effects are great.
2. IT (1990). This movie deserves to be number two. Tim Curry of course being Pennywise, he played the role exceptionally well, and the suspense was another great factor in this masterpiece.
1. The Shining (1980). When I first saw this movie I didn't expect much from it, but when I witnessed the masterpiece, I was astonished. Not only is it the best Stephen King-based movie, but one of the best horror movies of all time. This movie demonstrates the directing skills of Stanley Kubrik. And of course, Jack Nicholson pretty much made this movie, playing as crazy ol' Jack Torrence. This movie definitely deserves to be number one on my list.
