'Martyrs'

The French movie Martyrs is by far the best horror movie ever made in any country at any time. Totally original, this is not a 'cookie-Cutter' redo from old themes as many (most all) horror movies are today.

No killer Japanese cell phones here either, boy am I tired of that theme. Truly a masterpiece of Phycological horror. A must see.

Not a zombie film

Martyrs is not a zombie movie. A great film nonetheless. But it's as much a zombie movie as Peter Pan was.

It would be one of the best if it were a zombie movie.

The infected do not die so they cannot be classified as "undead" and they can be starved to death.

It is, however, a very good "not-a-zombie" zombie movie.
