Big Blue Timid Monster in Closet

For the life of me I cannot find any information on a movie or short I saw on TV as a kid.

A boy in a white bedroom goes to the closet and there's a very timid monster peeking out. The monster is about 6 foot, 7 inches and blue, with weird, sunken sad eyes and a long face.

I've run a fine-toothed comb through the Internet and cannot find any info on this. I can only now hope that the experts can offer some guidance.
