Blond Hair in Back, Skull in Front!

by Jon Armond
(Spencer, Iowa USA)

I was born in 1971 and I remember a trailer that used to be shown on TV for a movie that I believe would have been about the time I was 4-7 years old. Used to scare the "you-know-what" out of me. Here's what I can tell you about the commercial (that I always watched with one eye shut):

The trailer opens with the back of a woman's head shown. She has long, blond hair and it is being slowly brushed. Then a hand places a flower in the hair and a creepy voice says: "a flower there..." at which point the head turns around to reveal a SKULL!!

I seem to remember the movie with an odd title that started with an X, and I have always wanted to find and watch this movie and or trailer if ANYONE can tell me what it is. Would have been from 1975-1978.

Thanks.

This is definitely the trailer for Suspiria, a film by Dario Argento. The voice in the commercial say "Roses are red, violets are blue, but the iris is the flower that will mean the end of you!" It is an incredibly creepy trailer and the voice of the woman talking is insanely creepy! If you get your hands on the DVD the trailer in question can be watched in the special features section.

Me Too!

Agh...I remember this too! The most frightening memory of my young life. I remember my mom grabbing me and pressing my face to her chest whenever it came on! What was that?!

'Suspiria'
by: Russweiss

It sounds like the American trailer for Dario Argento's Suspiria (1977).
