Boy's Mom Dies So He Hides In House as New People Move In

I once saw a horror film on TV about a little boy whose mother leaves to get surgery and dies in the process, and no one tells her son. So he is left alone in the house, meanwhile realtors are selling the house so he hides there.

Can anyone please tell me what this was called?
