B-Side Movies on a Zombie DVD Set
by Ellis Smith
(Yuma, AZ )
Zombie Master,
I recently bought a 3 DVD zombie set only for the 1968 NOTLD, but it also had several movies I've never heard of. Can you tell me if any are worth watching?
The night Evelyn came out of the Grave
The House by the Cemetery
Fangs of the Living Dead
I Eat Your Skin
The Last Man on Earth
King of the Zombies
The Thirsty Dead
Messiah of Evil
Thanks very much for your input!

Ellis,
In the order that you have given them;
The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave -- I liked this one but not a lot of people get into Italian horror.
The House by the Cemetery -- Part 3 of Lucio Fulci's trilogy. I have a review for this in the review section and I personally think that Fulci was a genius.
Fangs of the Living Dead -- actually a vampire movie. It wasn't bad, but it is not one that I would watch again.
I Eat Your Skin -- Sucked. Zombies are the voodoo type so there is actually no eating of skin. It's just a catchy title.
The Last Man on Earth -- Loved it but I like Vincent Price. This is the first movie to be based on Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend". He originally wrote the screenplay but had his named removed after the re-writes.
The Thirsty Dead -- Not bad but not good either. Again no zombies but not vampires either. There is a blood cult if that means anything.
Messiah of Evil -- Again, not bad. Can be confusing at times and there are plot holes but it is decent.
I hope that this helps you but I would encourage you to at least watch all of them to make your own opinion. Let's face it, as much as I hate to admit it, Lucio Fulci is not for everyone (there I said it).
Good hunting and aim high,
The Zombie Master
