I checked out the suggested movie. I was really young when I caught some of the flick so it does and doesn't ring a bell.

Are you sure it was black and white? Have you seen The People Under The Stairs? It's about a crazy couple/brother and sister who keep kids under the stairs but one gets into the walls and they call him Roach because they can't catch him. It's probaly not the movie you're thinking of.
