B&W: German Soldier Sees Hell Through Hole in Picture

When I was a child I saw a black and white movie where a German soldier looks through a hole in a wall behind a picture and sees nothing but deep depths of darkness.

Then the camera pans way back and we can see light coming through the hole he was looking through and something moving towards him at great speed.

Any ideas? TY
