B&W: Woman Stays at Strange Inn and Meets Girl With Tongue Cut Out

I saw a black and white movie where a young attractive woman is staying at an inn where she meets a young girl whose tongue is missing so she is unable to warn guests about the dangers in staying at the inn.

The lady also meets a librarian who is normal and shares some info with this young woman. The young woman finds a passage way that leads her to an alter or table where she is then stalked and stabbed to death.

I searched most of the archived questions and found some of the oldies I was looking for but I have had no luck thus far for this one. Thank you in advance.
