Camper Hit By Creature and Barrel Rolls Into a Rock

I saw this movie sometime in the early 90's as a little kid. All I really remember from it is a family out camping (father, daughter, son), the father telling his boy to turn off the boombox that he's carrying on his shoulder, and moving on. You can hear a creature breathing underneath some trees.

That night the family gets attacked and either the son or the daughter gets hit by the creature and barrel rolls into a rock. Later on another group of people try to kill the creature, using what I think was a dead body on top of a car as bait.

Scared the hell out of me. Much obliged for any help.
