intended to be taken seriously. Still, this cheesy campy exploitation
horror flick created one of the best movie quotes of all time.

What’s that spell? Crap! Crap! Crap! Does that mean I
don’t like this movie? Hell no, I love it! Guilty pleasure?
Oh yeah, you better believe it.
Cheerleader Camp has it all; it's campy, it's
cheesy, it has tons of gore, boobs, drinking, drug use, boobs, oddball
characters, goofy one liners, out of work former teen stars like Leif
Garrett, future porn star Teri Weigel and uh.....did I mention boobs?
Yeah, lots of that too. Well, I guess I better explain what little of
the film there is to explain.
Cheerleader
Camp is the epitome of the low rent slasher movie. A deranged
serial killer is stalking and murdering lovely young cheerleaders (and
everyone else for that matter) at a secluded cheerleader camp. One of
the girls keeps having "problems"... mental problems…and is
the prime suspect. She cannot remember committing any of the murders in
question.
There is not much more to say about Cheerleader Camp.
Well, there actually is a twist at the end that is quite above average
and cleverly done.
Travis McKenna (Road House, Van Wilder) adds some great comic relief to
Cheerleader Camp and there is a large selection of
oddball characters that appear throughout the film that support the
comic elements. I really don't think that Cheerleader Camp
was ever meant to be taken seriously, so I do not recommend that you do
- you may hurt your brain.
There is one particular thing that makes Cheerleader Camp
very special in my mind. One of the funniest quotes to come from any
movie EVER comes from
Cheerleader Camp. It is a scene where the grungy
drunk old groundskeeper is watching the cheerleaders do a dance and he
makes the comment that watching the girls "makes your pee-pee harder
than a bag of nickel jawbreakers!" That is just too priceless for words.
Break out the beers when you watch Cheerleader Camp.
You will not be disappointed, especially if you are too messed up to
care about all the crappiness! Cheerleader is a
fun way to kill an hour and a half – exploitation at its
finest, that is for sure. Questions
