Couple Drives Round and Round English Countryside and Can't Escape

I remember a move from the late 60's or early 70's in which a woman and her husband (maybe Tom Skerritt) inherit a huge mansion with a full staff, and at one point jump in a car to leave and drive round and round the English country side and can't find a road out.

At one point, one of the staff members in the mansion (the bulter?) tries to take a shot at the woman from a rooftop but the rifle gets blanked off by an evil force and it backfires on him.

I believe there was a satanic element to the movie and at the end she gives in to it?

I have been racking my brain and looking up keywords on the internet to no avail until I found this cool website.

Any help would be great.
