Creepy Man in Attic Winow, Cloud-Like Figure in Basement

I watched a movie in the 90's about a family that moves into a house in a secluded area.

When they arrive, their son or daughter loooks up into the attic window from outside and sees a strange man or ghost. Throughout the movie, there is a lot of paranormal activity - doors slam open and shut in the hallway.

In the end, the family is in the basement trying to escape the spirits and a giant cloud-like figure with a scary face appears in front of the family.
