Creepy Woman in Attic Slays Vising Kids Downstairs

There's a film involving an old house where some kids visit, and a whitish-grey demon-like woman comes down the stairs from the attic and slays them one by one throughout the night.
If I remember there is a history of a scientist/father type figure who locked her in there years before.
