Dead Mother Lies Next to Lit Birthday Cake
I'm looking for a movie that would have been made in the 50's or 60's and shown on "Thriller Theater" on Saturday morning TV in the early 70's.
The scenes I remember are:
- A 12 year old girl with braids bringing flowers to her sick mother, who had made a birthday cake for the girl. When the child enters the room, her mother is dead, with a large knife sticking up out of her chest, and the candles on the cake are all lit.
- Several years later, the girl returns home from, I think, a sanitarium, and is chased by "something" and always ends up in the room where her mother died, and always sees her mother again on the bed.
Can anyone tell me the name of this movie? Does it sound familiar at all?
