Dear Zombie Master: Best Anti-Zombie Firearm?
by Anonymous
Dear Zombie Master,
I was out looking over zombie stuff and thought about a very efficient way of killing zombies with minimal force. I wanted to get your thoughts.
I would think that a very nice high capacity .22lr caliber rifle and pistol set would be very beneficial for the slaying of zombies. Here are some reasons why:
#1 The .22lr is the most common round in the world; therefore ammunition stockpiles would be high.
#2 The .22lr is powerful enough to penetrate the human skull.
#3 This caliber choice would mean that you can carry much more ammunition than most other choices.
#4 The .22lr can be fun and easy to use without much training.
#5 The .22lr can be suppressed easily to make less noise and keep situational awareness at its peak.
#6 The .22lr in pistol and rifle form is cheap!
Here's some cons:
#1 The shooter must be accurate and be able to hold his ground with just a .22lr.
#2 Rimfire isn't exactly peak reliability.
There we go! Interesting aside to all the people who claim shotgun would be number one.
My .22s of choice would be a Smith and Wesson 22a with a modified Ruger 10/22 with 25 round magazines. The rifle with have a flashlight and red dot scope - both easily and cheaply accomplished (in fact I already have them).
How's that for a realistic weapon choice for an unrealistic threat?
Hello,
The .22lr is abundant and cheap but instead of rifles you need to be thinking more along the lines of assault weapons and semi- or fully- automatic pistols for backup. With the abundance of not only the 5.56 (.22lr) but also the 7.62 (.30) rounds you should look more to the M16/AR15, AK47, SKS, HK33, etc., my personal favorite being the M4 carbine with the M26 MASS shotgun attachment. Machine pistols are great for putting a lot of lead in the air but they are not the most accurate so for pistols I tend to go more toward the semi-auto 9mm and .45 my favorites being the Colt M1911A1 and the Ruger P90 and P95. Don't forget though that if it is quiet that you want start training yourself on both the compound bow and the crossbow. Both have more than enough force to go through the head and you can't get much quieter.
The moral to this is that you need to familiarize yourself with a smorgasbord of weaponry and strive for proficiency.
Good hunting and aim high,
The Zombie Master
