Dear Zombie Master: Can a Zombie Swim?

Dear Zombie Master,

Can a zombie swim? Or would their body just sink and continue to rot away?

Derek,

Yes and no. When they are attacking they can propel their bodies through the water as in the famous shark scene from Lucio Fulci's Zombie 2.

Otherwise, they are more apt to just walk and let their "dead" weight take them to the bottom while they continue to walk, as in the scene from Romero's Land of the Dead.

In other words no, a moat around any facility or island in the middle of the ocean will not protect you from the coming onslaught.
