Dear Zombie Master: Survival of the Dead / Zombie Cure

Dear Zombie Master,

I am a zombie movie addict and am glad to see that so many people share my love of this amazing sub-genre.

I was wondering if you had any information about the new Romero movie, 'Survival of the Dead'. It was originally believed to be a sequel but its now known to be a new plot as I would expect from Romero. Currently I have heard nothing of a release, only of film festival showings.

I would also like to know whether or not zombies can be changed back. Up until recently I thought they were permanently changed as usually to change they have to die, and that the best we could do is inanimate them. However there seem to be a few films pushing forward the idea that they can ‘cure’ the zombies. I personally think this ruins part of the magic behind zombie movies.

I have heard mixed reviews of Survival of the Dead but the one thing I have not heard is when it will be released outside of the festival circuit. As far as it being a sequel, it actually follows the exploits of Nicotine Crockett from Diary.

Now to your second question; there is no cure for a zombie. The only 'antidote' available is for the T- virus from the Resident Evil series and that will only work before you die. Once dead then you will turn regardless.
