Dear Zombie Master: What's the Future of Zombies?

Dear ZM,

It's me again... I have a couple new questions for you.

As we've all been discussing in the forums about different zombie genres and our plans for the impending doom we shall all succumb to, I'm curious as to what the future holds for the zombies. We've seen zombies go from Voodoo, to radiation contamination, to viral infected rabid people... so what do you think is next or what would you like to see?

Also what happens after the initial breakout? would you like to see zombies begin to evolve? Kind of like Land of the Dead, or would they eventually rot away and die permanently? Or maybe they just never die and roam the earth mindless for all eternity?

I've been thinking of a lot of ideas for a story I want to write but I think some of my ideas might push too far outside the box of zombie loyalty, if you know what I mean.

I actually like all types of zombies. From voodoo to radiation to toxin to infestation, they all have a place in my heart. As far as what I would like to see, I think it would be nice to see what people would do with a mixture of several different types so they are never really sure what caused them and what to look for. I know it seems kind of sadistic but it would be a great "war game" scenario.

As far as the initial outbreak is concerned, I tend to lean more towards the "roaming the earth mindlessly" scenario. That is, of course, until I can put a well placed round in their heads.
