Dear Zombie Master: Zombie Fans of All Ages
by Charlotte
(England)
Just another manic monday...
Dear Zombie Master,
First off, I am decidedly younger than the recommended age for watching zombie films by about 8 years.
Second, you are my idol.
Third, do you not like the Resident Evil films? They are mostly the favs of the rookies who think they characterize the zombie genre and no nothing of Romero. I still love them though.
Forth, when did zombies first start to go turbo? The difference in the speed of a Romero versus Resident Evil zombie is amazing.
Fifth, I have found some great zombie books online. I recommend: The Morningstar Strain, Autumn and Reign of the Dead.
Lastly, I am fully prepared for a zombie outbreak and am planning to get a tattoo that says ‘aim for the head’ (as if I would forget).
Your biggest fan,
Charlotte xxxx
Charlotte,
Let me begin by saying that I am humbly grateful for your accolades and hope that I continue to live up to your expectations. As for age, I don't believe you can be too young to begin your path to perfect awareness and begin preparations for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
Yes I actually do like the Resident Evil films. They're different, but fun. I'm not a gamer so I hadn't been biased before the films were released, so they were enjoyable.
I believe that even though Resident Evil was released two years earlier, the turbo-zombies weren't really noticed until the remake of Dawn of the Dead, another movie that I enjoyed.
Those are some good books and I would add all of Max Brooks' titles and a collection of zombie short stories entitled 'Book of the Dead'.
When you get your tattoo done, I would love for you to send me a picture of it.
Good hunting and aim high,
The Zombie Master
