Dear Zombie Master: Zombie Mosquito?

by Joshua Lee
(Port Saint Lucie FL USA)

Dear Zombie Master,

Can/will a mosquito bite and feed from a infected person/zombie and will/can that mosquito infect a uninfected person?

Side note.

These following creatures would require you to modify your cabin idea to incorporate the concept of a tree-moving zombie monkey. There are many other dangerous creatures at your local zoo, such as:

Zombie Rino...
Zombie monkeys...
Zombie birds...
zombie Lion...
Zombie Black Panther...

Just to name a few.

HEADING TO KEY WEST FL.

Heading to Key West,

That is a great question. Mosquitos can not transfer AIDS or the Flu because they are caused by viruses. However mosquitos can tranfer malaria and heart worms because they are caused by parasites. So the answer to the question would totally depend on the cause of the zombie outbreak.

Now, before I get any follow-up questions/arguments let me say that I am not a mosquito expert and I do not know why they can transfer one but not the other. It just seems to be the case and more research will have to be conducted to get a definitive answer.

Good hunting and aim high,

The Zombie Master

Mosquito Info
by: Lostsoul114

Starting with DEAD zombies not an infection but supernatural and DEAD. Mosquitoes are attracted to body temperature so if a zombie is dead it will have a low body temperature and a mosquito will likely go for a warmer target. Also it is key to note that only a zombie with a virus or other type of infection could infect others through mosquitoes.

Second in reference to an infected person (zombie), usually infection brings fever and in accordance higher blood temperature which would actually attract mosquitoes. So if the infection remained intact in or on the mosquito it is possible that infection could occur from mosquito bites.

Also, quick tip if you want to go for a walk during the summer and do not want to get bit by mosquitoes bring your pet (dog or cat) if you have one because they have an average temperature of over 100 degrees while humans average 98 degrees.

My two cents
by: Hidde

Mosquitos of course decay way quicker than humans so the chance of mosquitos that were already dead is slim.

The chances of a zombie mosquito through a bite is even smaller because first of all zombies want flesh and mosquitos don't have much to offer, and second they'd be eaten in one bite anyway.

Spreading zombiism wouldn't work because zombies have no bloodstream and no beating heart. Even if a mosquito stings a zombie it probably wouldn't even find any good blood.

Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide had a bit about how mosquitos avoid zombies because the virus that causes zombiism releases phermones that drive them off.
