Desert Family Massacre in 90's Film

I remember seeing an early 90's film about a family that lives in the desert.

In one scene, a kid is swinging on a tire swing above a large puddle, when suddenly a hand or something gigantic pops up and tries to grab him. Later, the kid is playing with a toy truck when demons come after him and he leaves the truck behind.

In another scene, a man is in a cellar (which I think plays a major part of the movie - maybe the title) when he is attacked by the demons and gets dragged down a tunnel where his fingers are ripped off and left behind.
