Disturbed Box in Garden Sets Off Inferno in House

I once saw a brilliant movie with superb special effects. I would say it was from 1997-1999.

It was set mainly in a normal (large) house and featured teenagers.

There was a box or grave in the back garden. This was disturbed and a huge fiery hole - an inferno - opened up inside the house. There were devilish things going on. Or maybe hellish things...

At the end all the damage was undone and the house was back to its original state.

I'd love to see this movie again but cannot for the life of me remember what is was called. I've searched the web extensively, and so you are a last resort!
