Eel On an Oil Rig

Hi,

Hello - I Remember watching a movie as a youngster with my younger brother. I think the plot was based around an oil rig out at sea. A black eel creature (or snake) was accidentally brought onto the rig (could have been drilled up?).

Anyhow, the creature attacked a resident worker and he turned into this black monster.

Does the movie ring any bells?

I think it was on terrestrial T.V. in the UK around the early 80's?
