Evil Boat Captain Tries to Murder Newlyweds at Sea

I watched this pre-'80s movie where newlyweds very much in love are on a sailboat in the ocean with numerous icebergs.

The captain (or someone else?) turns into this evil person who tries to murder the couple.

My own searches have found the plot of 1952's Ghost Ship to be somewhat similar, but it doesn't sound quite right. Finding the correct title has haunted me for years!

I would appreciate the help.

Could it be Dead Calm (1989) with Billy Zane, Sam Neill and a very young and extremely hot Nicole Kidman? It sounds similar.

...The Sea Wolf. There are several film versions, and my favourite is the 1993 Charles Bronson version.
