Don Sumner, BHM Editor-in-Chief, first met Gut Director Elias in 2006 when he was promoting his Lovecraft-themed anthology LovecraCked and gave a very candid interview. This latest effort is not an anthology but rather a feature-length film.

Exclusive:
According to Elias, “(the film was) shot in 29 Days in New York and NJ. AD Sharifa Williams did a marvelous job of scheduling things, keeping our days on average 10hrs, no small feat, especially on an independent film. The crew decided that shooting in NYC parks proved to be a far better option that of NJ - it was free, compared to hundreds a day for your average NJ park.”
Elias also shared some stories from behind the scenes on the set, which are always interesting to hear.
“There were no major injuries during the shoot, but there was one rather strenuous day where I worried that our lead Jason Vail might have broken his hand. Fortunately this was not the case.
Tragically, while shooting at this same location one afternoon, a teenage girl was hit by a limousine one the street directly below. It was a horrible sound of screeching breaks, a dull thud and then screams of horror. I ran outside with another crew member to see what had happened and discovered this poor young lady lying on the ground clutching her leg in agonizing pain. Her friend was looking after her and she was still conscious. The police had been called, but what was most horrifying about the situation was the rubber-necking, gawking going on from all the other school kids and passers-by. Kids were laughing and pointing while this girl lay there grimacing in pain. They blocked the street and access to her just staring. The general lack of regard for her was infuriating and we did our best to get them to step back onto the sidewalk and give her some breathing room. Cars and cabs kept trying to just drive through, refusing to go around or take an alternate route, despite the fact that this kid was still lying in the street. At one point I remember blocking this yellow cab and just screaming at him to get back - he finally listened. This all happened in a very short span of time, but I couldn't tell you how long. The police and the ambulance arrived and the girl seemed like she was going to be ok. It was a very surreal and disturbing day to say the least.”
