I HATED The Excorcist!!! That was like the worst movie EVER! And I think that if they do, remake it then it's just gonna be worse!

Love NOES and it is true that they're making a remake of that...but I haven't heard anything about the Excorcist!

remakes, what the fu**k!?
by: jacko

why?!!!...was the first thing that got in my head when i heard they were planning on a -nightmare- remake, why would they take something perfect and probably ( for sure!!!) convert it into crap, let the perfection be, let the clasics remain in our memories a our colections without some producers,
wanting to make money, present a crapy version to the new generations.

Not surprised!

If you see a crazy redhead leading a protest outside the opening of the Nightmare on Elm St remake (if it happens) then thats me...

Nightmare is one of my fav horror movies. I just thought it was way ahead of it time. Actually I think that theoritically (haha i like to speel!) the COULD do something really cool w/ Nightmare. Using today's technology and everything...i think something truely creepy and f-in scary could arise...BUT it wont... The studios will butcher it by trying to make it apeal to the largest audince possible which, ironically, is the exact reason why it will fail....

Damn, dont tell me these things Mister Callum in Ireland! Ur f-in up my day!

JEERS!

~Didnt they already remake The Exorcist? Isnt there like a rule against that? If not there should be! I guess after I finish my picket signs for the Nightmare protest/March on Hollywood I'll have to start a petition on never allowing a movie to be remade more than once!

Unbelievable!
by: Watchman de profundis

I did a keyword search for "The Exorcist Remake Dakota Fanning" and sure enough they are in talks and studio execs want Fanning. I'm really not surprised that they are remaking this one since all corporate Hollywood wants is money and there are plenty of mouth-breathers who are more than willing to shell it out to see crapfest rehashes.
Gary Oldman also is in negotiations according to what I've read. Maybe for the role of Fr. Damien Karras. Not sure though.

Michael Bay is a scourge
by: Watchman de profundis

An Exorcist remake starring Dakota Fanning? I have not heard about that. They are, however, remaking Rosemary's Baby.

Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay's production company) is behind the "re-imagining" (Bay-speak for ruining a classic) of "A Nightmare on Elm St." And no, I repeat NO, Robert Englund, as of right now, is not Freddy Krueger in the remake.
And Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls and Supernatural) is one of the star's of the remake of "Friday the 13th" (Also by Bay's Platinum Dunes. Anyone else seeing a trend?) Also, no to Kane Hodder as Jason. But, that's not too much of a big deal since 6 people or so have played Jason throughout the years.
For those who are holding out hope for the new "A Nightmare on Elm St." just remember what Bay and his boys did to "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake/abortion! If you liked it than you probably don't care that Englund isn't playing Freddy.

please, not another remake
by: erika kane

It would be a damn shame to take 2 movies that are well made and totally scary and insert new actors and cheesy dialogue. Why don't they leave well enough alone? I am sick of crappy remakes. Show some originality, people.
