The mystery and intrigue continue with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s latest line-up of acclaimed noir classics Boomerang, Moontide and Road House as they make their long-awaited DVD debut on September 2. When a much-loved priest is murdered in the sleepy state of Connecticut, the local police chief (Lee J. Cobb two time Oscar nominee) goes on a man hunt to find the guilty party in Boomerang. Based on a true story, this classic film combines reality, crime and moral conflict. There is fog on the water and evil is brewing in Moontide, starring Jean Gabin (Les Miserables), Ida Lupino (The Hard Way, The Devil’s Rain), Thomas Mitchell (Gone With The Wind, 1940 Academy Award ® winner for Stagecoach) and Claude Rains (four- time Oscar nominee, including Casablanca and Notorious). When a longshoreman (Gabin) fears he may have killed a man while on a drunken binge, he quickly takes a job on an isolated barge. In Road House, Lupino stars again, this time alongside Cornel Wilde (Oscar nominee for A Song To Remember, The Greatest Show On Earth,) and Richard Widmark (Kiss of Death, Garden of Evil). Murder and revenge ensue as a twisted love triangle begins when overconfident playboy Jefty Robbins (Widmark) hires a beautiful lounge singer (Lupino) for his lush roadhouse.
