From Barney to Bones

Me

I have always loved scary movies. My older sister loved them and I always wanted to watch them with her. I would watch a little bit and have nightmares for weeks.

After watching Darkness Falls however, I was completley done with them. I had nightmares for months!

Then about a year ago I saw Dead Silence and I really loved it.

Since then I've been renting horror movies like crazy, but nothing seems to scare me any more. I'm really considering re-watching Darkness Falls.

So far I've seen Hellraiser, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, all of the Saws, the Halloweens, the Nightmare on Elm Streets and even The Exorcist, and I haven't had much of an adrenaline rush.

Can anyone recommend some really scary horror?

Thanks,
Ash

I agree with what you're saying.

I too now have great difficulty finding a horror movie that really scare me and has me looking for a cushion to hide behind!

One of the movies that really does scare me though is Amityville II: The Possession (1982), especially when the guy flys down from the ceiling at the Priest.

Or maybe Hell Night (1981) starring Linda Blair. You can only try, and see what you think!

Well first of all, there's such a thing as overload. Most horror fanatics get it. They check out tons of movies and none really have the same impact as that first scary one.

Sometimes you just need some time. There are, however, plenty of movies out there.

Maybe you should check out Ju-on: The Grudge (2002). I think it's the best one of the series.
