yea they were two girls and a boy, and the grandma said how about one more for the road,on the way home the boy tied the girls shoe laces together ,the car crashed and she couldnt get out and it exploded..so she comes back to haunt them,and the other girl is the only one who can see her and she gets blamed for everything,till the end when the ghost shows herself to the mother...it was called dont look under the bed..came out around the same time as motel hell

Audrey Rose maybe? I haven't seen it, I just remember the cover had a little girl trapped inside a car, and know the ghost torments another little girl. Hopefully this helps, although I could be way off base.
