Girl Held Captive Wakes Up To Find Finger(s) Amputated and Bandaged

by Anonymous

I don't know what year this movie is from, but I was very young when I saw some of it, so maybe from the late '80s or early '90s.

I remember there's a girl or woman being held captive in a bedroom and a small closet door on the wall where some little evil creature lives.

I also remember the girl being put to sleep by a man against her will, only to wake up soon afterwards to find that one or two of her fingers has been amputated and bandaged.

Unfortunately, that's all i can remember. I've been looking for this movie for a long time - maybe I can get lucky on this website.

Definitely!

Oh that is definitely it. Not quite as I remember it, but that must be it! The monster looks like I remember it (only this one looks bigger), the closet is in the same place (pretty much - I remember it being closer to the door), and the old man who I didn't like. The stairs up to the room, the monster going down the stairs in the end of the "movie"...it all comes back to me now. Well, more of it anyway. I didn't remember the ending at all, nor the "girl renting a room" part, and not the mouse-trap either.

And no wonder I don't remember seeing much of it. That's like a 20-minute episode of a TV series and I must be mixing it with another movie because it doesn't contain everything I remember. Fingers being amputated and later found, the girl being genuinely scared, girl getting put to sleep, etc. None of that happened in this show. But this is definitely what I have been looking for. I don't even doubt it!

But then what is the other movie? Could it be the one that was mentioned in one of the other comments here? I can't find that movie anywhere. It's too old (the one where the butler gets into the girls room through the closet). That movie sounds like the one I talked about too.

This TV-show episode is the reason I've always been afraid of closets. I can't sleep in rooms with little doors in them. Not even attic hatches. And I definitely can't have the lights off if there are doors in the room that i know there is nothing inside. I thought that by watching this again now that I'm a grownup, I could make this fear go away. And this episode wasn't very scary at all. I could totally beat that thing up if i saw it in my closet. Well, maybe. Monsters in the 21th century are faster, meaner, and more aggressive than in the 20th century (according to movies). I don't wanna risk my brain being splattered all over the walls...

Anyways, big thanks to everyone who replied to me. Thanks to you guys, I finally found what I have been searching for for years! And now I can stop looking for it. I feel relieved.

...could it be an episode of Tales from the Darkside titled "Inside the Closet?"

Further description

Wow. It really /does/ sound like what i described. But unfortunately, it's not the movie i was looking for.

I remember the movie as being rather slow-paced. The closet door was, if i remember right, maybe about half the size of a real door. Kinda like the door to a play-house that children use. You know, like these kinds.

The creature that was in the closet, looked humanoid. 2 legs, 2 arms, one head, and standing upright. It did not have human skin, or a human face. But i don't remember much else of it. Only that it really scared me when i saw it. It was also very short/tiny. If i am to take a guess, i'd say it was about the size of a persons leg, from ankle to the knee. Maybe not even that.

The room she was being held in, was rather old looking. You know those rooms in old mansions, where there are heavy curtains on the windows, a large, antique bed (that always looks so inviting), an old dresser with a mirror on top, etc. That's how i remember the bedroom in this movie.

I think i've described everything i remember about this movie. If nobody knows a movie like this, i'll just have to keep looking.

But thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me. I really appreciate it. I'm also going to see if i can find the movie you mentioned so i can watch it. Looks like it could be worth it. Definitely have not seen it before.

Sounds like...'Dead Of Winter' (1987)
by: Rusty G.

Although there are no evil little creatures in this film the rest of your description sounds like Dead of Winter (1987). In the film a woman is lured to a house under false pretenses and kept there against her will by a madman. The man is assisted by his evil butler who enters the woman's room through a secret door in her closet. The butler amputates the woman's finger while she is passed out after being drugged. I've attached links with more info on the film. I hope this helps.
