"GIRL HORROR FREAK?!"

PredAlien
My obsession started when I went to Walt Disney World. They have a ride there called The Great Movie Ride. One of the little exhibits was a rather explicit one of the 'Alien' movie. I was interested in the galactic monster figure falling from the ceiling and the spooky special effects. "Dad?" I had whispered to him, he being next to me on the ride.
"Can I see this movie some time?"
"Of course not!" He replied, chuckling. "You're way too young. This movie is too scary for you."
I was 11.
I had pouted and thought 'We'll just see about that.'
Technically, the first scary movie I'd watched was 'Children of the Corn', the classic Stephen King- written movie. Pretty cheesy, but it technically did begin it.
It startled me when, the year after Disney, my dad brought home 'Alien'. I had forgotten all about it, but I was sooo excited once it finally came. I was just about spazzing. When we watched it, I was reeled in like a defenseless little fish on a hook. I was practically drooling. 'Alien' was the best sci-fi horror flick I've ever watched, still my opinion. I then watched the sequels: 'Aliens', 'Alien3', and 'Alien: Resurrection'. After that came 'Predator', 'Predator 2', 'Scream', and all my other favorites. I've watched about 65 horror movies in a year and a half (not enough for me, but my parents kinda hate my obsession.)
Now, for the title of my tale, "GIRL HORROR FREAK?!". The thing is, whenever I told people I loved horror/sci-fi/thriller scary movies; they'd look at me like I'd grown a foot out of my forehead and said "But... you're a girl!" And I'd practically kicked them in the shin. It annoys me how stereotypical people are; I can be a female and be obsessed with horror and acid-spewed blood. Right?
From now on, I'm renting horror movies from our new membership with Netflix practically every weekend. This weekend I've watched three horror movies. I plan on spending my future nights watching a movie (probably horror) almost every night.
Well, there's my tale. Hope you liked! :)
