Glowing Slugs Electrocute People in '70s Film

This aired in the mid to late '70s. Basically, a town is attacked by slugs that have some sort of electrical charge, glowing either blue or green. They crawl into a person's ear or mouth and electrocute them til death.
One memorable scene is a lady on the phone, and while she's talking, the bug crawls into her ear.
I can't remember much more that than but all searches that resemble what I remember turn out not to be the movie. Anyone know?
