Green Creature Leaves Slime and Vines

Does anyone know the name of an 80's film about a green slime monster? I only remember the ending:

The film takes place in a small town. A boy has just finished destroying some ugly green creatures that leave slime and an overgrowth of vines everywhere.

After taking a shower he goes downstairs and finds slime/vines everywhere again.

It's not: Leprechaun, Ghoules or The Green Slime
