Grew Up With The 'Halloween' Series

I have been watching horror movies since I was very little. I remember my Mom would always catch me part way through some horror movie that was on TV, and the first I was allowed to watch all the way through was a taped off TV edited version of Halloween (1978).
I have three sisters, and ever since then we would always watch them together. I could practically quote all of the Halloween movies (except the third one, which I've seen once and wouldn't watch again), and have seen most of the other classics, the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series, etc.
I've become particularly fond of Asian horror movies (the 2004 original version of Shutter being a current favorite, and so much scarier than the American version). Their ghost movies are always excellent and let's face it, Asian ghosts are just so much creepier than American ones. They just get it right, from the chill factor to the downright disturbing (note that all the Descent ghost-themed American movies for the past decade or so have been based off a Japanese films: The Grudge (2004), The Ring (2002), Shutter (2008), (2009), One Missed Call (2008), just to name a few.
For Slasher flicks I prefer American. I like the more suspense type than just gore and no plot, i.e. When a Stranger Calls (the 2006 remake) as opposed to See No Evil (2006). But they're all fun to watch.
I love zombies, but I have to admit there are so many classics that I have not seen, so I really have a long way to go on that subgenre. For a few years straight, I was addicted to FearNet, which introduced me to some incredibly terrible B movies, and some surprisingly good ones - both of which I enjoy. I'm currently twenty years old and have taken to watching horror movies as a wind down from class. I also enjoy watching them with my boyfriend, because it's funny watching all 6 foot 3 inches of him scrunch up into a tiny ball.
