Guy Hides in Furnace in House on Hill From Zombies

As a kid I saw this '80s or '90s horror movie set in a lone house on a hill where the dead are rising from the ground and attacking the house, which is barricaded with wood.

At one point someone goes out to the car and is attacked by the undead and eaten. Then one of the guys gets into a furnace while the rest hide, and takes off a ring before he does.

I've been looking for the title of this movie for a while. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
